The Hundred House Hotel, Norton, steeped in history.
If history be thy pleasure then please read on......
The main body of the Hundred House Hotel, is originally the Georgian Coach Inn, many a story it could tell if only it could speak....! The coaching inn of course in times gone by was a vital part of England's Inland transport infrastructure. The Inn served the needs of the travellers, seeking lodging, food & drink. The Hundred House Hotel has a typical position of a coaching inn, it being situated conveniently on the main Bridgnorth Road, where before the advent of modern transportation, would have provided accommodation for the horses which pulled the coaches.

Attached to the hotel is Shropshire's only 17th century tithe barn. This converted barn is where the Hundred House Hotel hosts their wedding ceremonies & feasts. The barn has been carefully & beautifully restored, making it really quite special for a wedding venue. In the past tithe barns were a type of barn used for storing rents & tithes, when farmers were required to give one tenth of their produce to the established church.
The current owners have run this hotel & wedding venue for many years. They have developed a devoted team of individuals who work together, delivering unforgettable wedding experiences.

Currently the hotel's main building for accommodation, is the former Georgian coach inn, which on a cold day welcomes you with a roaring open fire! It's rustic charm & cosiness are apparent literally the moment you step in. Upstairs to the bridal suite, there is an Aladdin's cave of wooden corridors, lit with glowing chandeliers, leading to many rooms labelled with herbal names! For the amount of rooms available to accommodate your wedding guests please contact the hotel direct.
The converted tithe barn holds up to 120 seated guests, for more guests please contact Gemma, at the Hundred House. It is a lovely building with a warm atmosphere of exposed beams, oak panelling & bespoke chandeliers in the barn, giving it a charm & intimacy that is quite unique to this wedding venue!

While I was composing this article I noticed that there are some confusion about where exactly the Hundred House Hotel is located....there are many searches for the Hundred house Shifnal, Hundred House Bridgnorth & the Hundred House Telford....So let's put this venue on the map, the Hundred House Hotel, is in Norton, Shropshire. Yes it has got a similar postcode to Shifnal but it's actually over 5 miles away, so don't park on Shifnal's high street for the Hundred House, if you do, you will have a long walk! The Hundred House Hotel is not in Bridgnorth but it is on the Bridgnorth Road. And finally as regards this hotel being in Telford, yes it has a Telford postcode, but it's not part of the 1960's planners dream of a new city. This hotel is quintessentially old England, quirky, slightly unusual & surrounded by the greenery of Shropshire's countryside & it's over 6 miles away from Telford.
