Let me tell you a story of a hidden gem, if you live in Wolverhampton or the surrounding area of the West Midlands & you would love a beautiful, historic backdrop of a refined Edwardian property why not check out Bantock House as your wedding venue? You might know Bantock House as a museum or regularly go to use it's park grounds, but did you know it was a wedding venue? With it's delightful gardens & 43 acres of parkland surrounding it, Bantock House has the all the beauty & grace of other similar wedding venues without the heavy price tag! How refreshing! With it's attractive gardens outside & it's fine quality interior design, the drawing room, where the ceremony takes place & indeed the rest of Bantock House, is tastefully decorated, with gilt heavy picture frames, lavish period furniture & fabrics, rich & ornamental, with costly antiques.
A brief history of Bantock House

Bantock House was once the Wolverhampton home of Thomas Bantock, along with his wife Mary, followed by their son & his wife Baldwin & Kitty Bantock.
Thomas Bantock was a successful railway & canal agent, Scottish born Thomas moved into what was then called New Merridale Farm in 1864. Thomas became mayor of Wolverhampton as did his son Baldwin. Baldwin left the property to his wife Kitty when he died in 1938 , on the understanding that she bequeathed it to the town of Wolverhampton. Although she outlived her husband by 16 years Kitty Bantock generously gave the house & it's many acres of grounds to Wolverhampton, in the very year that her husband died in 1938.
During the 2nd World War Bantock House became a base for the local Home Guard, however after the war Wolverhampton Corporation turned the property into a museum & the newly named Bantock House Museum opened in April 1948.
A keen gardener Baldwin transformed the farmyard into the sunken Dutch Garden, planted the Rose Garden, as well as creating the flower borders & woodland gardens, that still make up the lovely surrounds today.

The Drawing Room & the Coach House, 2 unique locations for your wedding needs!
The Drawing Room situated in the Manor House. This Edwardian drawing room is ideal for smaller ceremonies, oak panelling, period furnishing & sophisticated ornaments, make this a stylish & authentic room, to tie the knot! This beautiful room holds up to 25 guests.
Adjacent is the dining room where delicious afternoon teas can be booked, to follow your wedding ceremony!
The Coach House, is a larger venue located in the historic outbuildings, the Coach House provides an alternative to the formal drawing room, having a rustic feel, for larger wedding parties. The Coach House which before covid 19 occurred, holds up to 100 guests. Capacities are expected to change once Bantock House reopens. Parking At Bantock House Museum, Wolverhampton
Parking is plentiful & free but be aware the 43 acres surrounding Bantock is a public park, park users do have the right to use the car park as well!
As Bantock House is not far from the centre of the Millennium City Of Wolverhampton, if any of your guests need to travel into Wolverhampton from across the UK & they don't want to drive, a train to Wolverhampton Railway Station & a short cab ride from the train station to Bantock House will only take them 10 minutes!
